Analysing print ads


1. Nike (2017)

- Clear and effective image,
- It is quite memorable because it tells you the features of the trainers, making it stick in your mind.
- No Tagline, because most of the text on the add is to do with the features of the trainer. However they do have a slogan which is not featured on this ad.
- The text is persuasive.
- Clear language is used, what is stated about the trainer is easy to interpret.
- Appropriate font is used - Sans Serif.
- No colour scheme, only black, white, grey, but that is usual for Nike.
- Clear layout used
- Name of product used (The Lebron X)
- No website
- Brand identity used - Nike tick
- Eye catching, the black and white shows the elite brand, but could be more eye catching with a bit more colour.




2. Subway

- Very clear and effective image because of the tasty looking sandwich. Represents their brand strongly because its one of their nicest products.
- Quite memorable because it will make you crave the food and want to eat there. Informative because provides useful information such as the use of multigrain bread etc.
- Slogan: "Eat Fresh"
- Tagline Used: "The Finish line starts here"
- Persuasive language "Choose our multigrain bread"
- Clear language used
- Appropriate font used - Serif
- Colour scheme good because of the yellow and green, but the image adds to that so it is suitable enough.
- Clear layout, Tagline at the top, Image, Information, Logo, Slogan.
- No name of product, but they only make sandwiches so this criteria is not relevant to this type of advert
- Website at the bottom, not clear to see but it is there.
- Brand identity used, Logo, Slogan etc
- Very eye-catching, the image especially.



3. Heinz

- Very clear and effective image
- Memorable because of the clever concept of the tomato's stacked to make the bottle.
- Tagline at the bottom
- No persuasive language
- Clear language, as its to the point
- Appropriate font - Sans-Serif
- Not a colour scheme. Only Red, however that is the only colour you can really associate with Heinz
- Clear Layout
- Name of product not stated, but it is a very famous and well known brand, so everyone should know what is being advertised
- No website
- Brand identity used, because the brands name is stated on the bottle of ketchup.
- Eye catching, because most people like this product.
